I wish I could have found the thread about country life where someone was complaining cause they live in the city, and felt left out. But I just couldn't find it. Even though this photo didn't score real high it did well considering it was taken in the middle of the city...

For starters I can pick it apart myself. The lighting was bad the tea doesn't show up it just blends in with the leaves. There are a few bright yellow leaves in the background that are distracting. Ok now that I added my own comments to the photo right here my point is this...
Look how many comments there were about the red checkered tablecloth that had me laughing so hard. It was one teir to my kitchen curtains. But, I thought about it for a while and figured it wouldn't hurt the curtain and it would add atmosphere to the photo. That's being creative.
My photo seemed to be very country when the truth is it was taken along the fence in my backyard, the greens are hedges seperating my yard and the house next door. The glass was an old glass from Arco service station, and the iced tea in it was home brewed. Yes I did go to the extreme of actually baking that loaf of bread. The knife was an old knife my Grandmother gave me. My one big screw up was the cutting board. I have a wooden cutting board but it is so large I never thought about using it cause when I make bread I use that acrylic one to cut it on.
The whole thing is aside from the minor flaws I got creative and I created my own country setting and I am still laughing about my lovely checkered tablecloth...lol I mean curtains. |

Yeah, I liked you photo, and it is an excellent example of how a little resourcefulness can overcome a handicap. I pulled a similar stunt with my "Country Life" photo. My photo is actually at a dude ranch at a nearby resort. It's in the middle of suburbia, and if you look closely you can see the rooftops of houses on the horizon below the fence. I guess nobody else noticed, or they just didn't comment on them.

lol. that wasn't a tablecloth... yeah, the comment i left on the image still stands as my opinion. I personally just didn't care for it. Maybe I'm just not a fan of checkered tablecloths, who knows :) However, I think it is an excellent example of creativeness and I definetely thought that it met the challenge well. |
