A friend of mine posted a link to it on his websites message board and I've been here ever since. All I had was my old Sony Mavica at the time. I joined in November (just renewed my membership last week and am starting on year #3) and by Christmas I had my Rebel. Yes, it's that addicting. Still have the Rebel, but now with a ton of accessories and lenses. I can't seem to get away from this place. But really, who would want to? :-)

DPC was in a list of top websites in PC Magazine in the spring of 2004, and I took a look.

A poetry website I moderated at the time had an "art" forum for the memebrs to play in, and I was in charge of it. One of the members mentioned DPC. I hooked up, and now I don't moderate the po-board anymore :-)
Incidentally, for anyone who thinks we bitch a lot or are uncivil in HERE, I can only say this place is like utopia compared to the behavior of poets...

I found DPC through a link the famous BradP put up on a mutual site we use. I am glad I did, my photography has really begun to make me proud to show people my stuff. And I have been here less then 2 months. Thanks BradP you rock!!!

| honestly, I was looking for photos of spiders lol. And this forum showed up on google. Never did find the photos of spiders, but became engrossed with the photography on here. I've always loved taking pictures but never was able to get into it and this forum just kind of started me off! |

someone on here posted my infamous Minitrekker Movie
I happened to Google it, so I could see where my file was being displayed, and found this place.
Other than that incident, I like this place and try to offer up advice when I can

It was by accident that I came here...I didn't know what I was doing, didn't know what kind of camera I had...
Then I requested help, and some site council member (can't remember who though now heh) helped me find out through email what camera it was that I had...ended up being a dsc-p52 -- who woulda known

when I first got my digital camera the nikon 4300 I think..... I was on the net looking thinking that there must be a website where you discuss and share digital pics/photography. Thank the gods for google and I found it after a couple of days of searching and been addicted ever since.

| I was an active member of a different photography website and then someone from here posted a thread in a forum that if we wanted to see a real photography website we should join DPC, so I checked it out and liked it and joined that day. |

I was originally googling for art contests (as that is my major interest), because I needed money for an ipod (which I wanted so desperately). Ended up here somehow, and never left. Needless to say I still don't have my ipod ;-)
