What are you thankful for?- and anyone not celebrating the holiday you can join in too.

I'm thankful for my friends and family. Thankful for a hubby who loves to cook so all I had to do today was clean and throw a pumpkin cheesecake together. I'm also thankful that we are able to share our day with a few of hubby's students who had nowhere to go. It's always more fun and means so much more when we can share it instead of spending the day alone ourselves.

Happy Thanksgiving and may you be blessed!

Either nobody here celebrates thanksgiving, or nobody here is thankful for anything. With all the viewings and not one person saying what they are thankful for, that is just downright sad.

Just spent the afternoon and evening with 6 students from base. Had a wonderful time- although they made me feel very old with their "I graduated in 2003" and ect lol. Great kids and they did all the dishes!

I am thankful to have three little boys who drive me completely insane, eat all my food, create enough laundry a week for seven households, tear up the house moments after cleaning, break things, spill things, and otherwise do things that would drive even the Pope to curse...and that they are HEALTHY. That's more than many other mothers on our planet can say.

That's more like it!

Skiprow, that was beautiful.

I am thankful every day I have hubby home with me instead of out to see. I used to resent that he moved me away from all my family and friends, but after 2 years away from them I realized that he is my family and between him and our daughter life is good no matter how far away everyone else is.

I'm thankful for a lot. We had all those students over today and we have a tradition that we all have to say one thing we are thankful for before we eat. By the time we got to student number 3 we were all in tears lol.

I think we take for granted just how much we really do have to be thankful for.

I am thankful that I have a roof over my head, food in my belly and my two step daughters were here for T-Day dinner and the oldest has been off drugs - at least for today - my 13 year old son / best friend, my beautiful wife and my soon to be second son, my growing business, my freedom, my country and especially those who fight to protect it even when so many don't appreciate them for it, the internet, my friends at DPC and I'll throw in beer as well.

Hope you all had a blessed day!

I am thankful for the military for standing up and fighting in what a lot of people think is a losing battle....it takes a lot of courage and heart...and there are still a lot of people out there that think very highly of the service men and women in the country/world.

hats off to Fetor

I'm thankful for a lot of things, especially my sister, but I'm particularly thankful that I was able (despite a life of ups and downs) to retire to Cape Cod and settle in for the rest of what life will bring me. That had always been a dream, and now it's a reality.

Im thankful for the ability to value all the pain and anguish Ive been trough and turning it into positive energy. Im also thankful for all the bad luck Ive had, and learning from it instead of saying "why me". Im thankful for all the misery and misfortune Ive encountered while working as an EMT and allowing me to value each and every day and breath that I take.

We (as in the Art Club at my school) have been doing a lot of projects for the homeless and the hospitalized during the holidays, so I am extra thankful for my house, and my health. Along with that I am also thankful for my family, friends, and computer. Happy Thanksgiving!

I can so very easily echo about all of the sentiments in this thread...but I will add to that that I am thankful for this wretched cold and sinus infection the Lord has blessed me with, for I know I could be inflicted with a whole heck of a lot worse :-)

I'm thankful that I'm alive and kickin'. There isn't a real reason why I shouldn't be, but I can't say the same for many other people.

We all have so much to be thankful for and I know I could not list all mine. But here are some...

I am thankful for my God who gave his son to die for me so I can have everlasting life.

I am thankful for the parents and my brother.

I'm thankful for my wife of 19 years that seems to not show her age making me look old.

I'm thankful for my two wonderful children that are almost men now but will always be daddy little boys.

I'm thankful for my church and my friend.

I'm thankful for the ability to take pictures, if not to please other, to please myself.

I'm thankful for this site and how it has bonded me with many wonderful people through out the world. Sharing each corner of the globe with pictures.

But I have something very special to be thankful for this year. I was able to sit down to a nice Thanksgiving diner and watch football with my dad. What's so special about that? My dad had a heart attack about a month ago and his heart stopped for 9 seconds. The doctors told us if they had not given him the medications in the emergency room prior to that, they don't believe they would of been able to start his heart back. He stayed in the hospital a week and under went some test only for the doctor to tell us it is a matter of time.

My dad has some dead heart muscle, blockages, and heart failure and they found he had an aneurysm in his heart. The heart surgeon said he could do nothing but was referring him back to his cardiologist. He recommended my dad be equipped with a defibrillator. The doctor told my dad he could go home and think about it or they could do while he was in the hospital. My dad choose to go ahead and have it done.

The doctor was very worried about the procedure because they had to stop my dad's heart three times during to calibrate the defibrillator. When the procedure was over (about four hours) the doctor came out with a big smile on his face and told us my dad was doing well and the procedure went better than planed. Which made all of us feel great. But he also followed it by saying this is not a fix just an extension. He may have one day, ten day, two months, or two years. So as you can see it was a bitter sweet experience.

So having my dad eating a Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimming, cooked by my wonderful mother, sitting in the same room with me watching football was a blessing.
Thank you God for your blessing in Christ Jesus name.
