My DPC print sales have been at a standstill for months, and I am wondering if it's a price issue. So if you'd bear with me, I'd like to try an "auction" experiment. Hopefully it doesn't overstep the DPC forum bounds (if it does, I won't be offended if site council locks this thread). I know we sell equipment here this way, or at least call attention to it. The only drawback I can see of DPC allowing this is the extra forum traffic. But there is always the "ignore" option!

I know some people do this on ebay, and I might still try that, but I thought this might be an interesting way to see if someone in the DPC community is interested in purchasing at a significant discount.

I thought about offering this for all my photos, but I think for simplicity sake it's best to try a few choice ones.

You can bid on any size print offered. I'll sell up to one of each at the highest bidder's price. Simply post your bid here and be sure and specify what print and what size you are bidding for. The "reserve" is the DPC cost for that size. DPC shipping charges will be added at the time of sale. (Basically, the only guideline is that I will not sell for a loss). The experimental auction ends this Sunday, Nov 27 at midnight.

Auction #1: Sunset Bow

This is one of my favorite photos--we have a framed 24x30 print hanging in my dining room which people always swoon over.

Auction #2: Whirlwind Passion

I recently ordered a set of my own prints at 10x15 from DPCPrints, and this one blew me away. It is as beautiful if not more beautiful in print as it is on screen. Of course, not everyone likes abstracts, but I though this would be a good opportunity for someone who wants something bright and cheerful to hang.

Auction 3. Cycle of Beauty 2

Another of my personal favorites. It prints stunningly!

Thanks in advance to any who are interested, and my apologies in advance if this is not appropriate for DPC. And if it is, or if there's more interest, perhaps we would be better off with an "auction" forum, or a general FS forum that could be used?

evening bump...perhaps I am seeing why we don't do these auction threads here ;)

I guess there's no interest at any price? Or maybe not enough people around? Does anyone have any luck with "auctions" on e-bay?
(I was hoping to sell through the normal DPC channels instead.)

Hi Neil,

I think it's just really quiet because of the holiday. You have some awesome images, I love the fall scene! I've heard of ebay sales but I think the ones that earn the money are already framed. Good luck with your sales!!!!

The prints are worth more than you realize. It's just difficult to sell them to photographers.
