THAT was AWESOME! That pic framed with an engraving of that poem would make a great tribute type gift.

Thanks

"Nuzzle Close"

A common bond
of grace and trust.
A precious life
a mother's touch.
Staying near
just a little longer.
A nurtured time
for growing stronger.
A soothing look
a gentle nose.
Tells of love
and nuzzles close.

I guess I should post a pic worthy of some prose... Hmmmmm

Well I think I'd like some inspired words for this one:

Do you want Bear to write it for you?

I'll have a crack at it but it takes me time. Patience... :-)

Jeff, I have a heartfelt thankyou for you from Kahn's owner. I printed off the image and poem, gave it to her yesturday. She was just blown away! Brought it to work today showing everyone. Thankyou, you have given a gift beyond compare.

"The Sun's Setting Grace"

The amber water
invites the setting sun.
Sillouettes of seagulls
fly in unison.
The yellow glow
the sun's wishful eye.
Peeks beyond the clouds
as the land is sitting by.
All is well
in this serene place.
Take in all the beauty
of the sun's setting grace.

I'm really enjoying your poems! I keep refreshing the page to read the next one when you post it. You're almost as bad as the "update" button!!!

Anyway, good night!

"Thinking of You"

Visions of football
run through my head,
or maybe a game of
baseball instead.
I really would love
to play hide-n-seek.
I will count first
and try not to peek.
How 'bout a long
adventurous hike,
if not a walk,
then I'll ride my bike.
I sound like a siren
with a card in my spoke.
I can be a mysterious hero
veiled by my cloak.
All of these things
I really long to do
So Daddy, come home,
I am thinking of you.

"Peeking Through"

Butterflies
More like flying flowers
with beauty and elegance.
They come in various size and colors,
each one is splendidly made.
Floating through the air
with effortless ease.
Like dreams
they fall from the sky
and when they fly.
Time seems to stand still.
Look there,
Infront of you
is one right now
peeking through.

Well I think I'd like some inspired words for this one:

Visionary

Not all that long ago, I learned to see
more clearly from the corner of my eye
than I had ever done by looking straight:
for me, the "unvarnished truth" is like a lie
the world taught me when I was still too young
to know how sweet things tremble on the tongue,

How beauty lives at the periphery
where sun and shadow vanish into haze.
I'm older now, and wiser, or at least
more easy in the passage of my days.
I take my seeing simply, from the source ΓΆ€”
from light and mist on meadow and on horse.

If anyone feels up to this one.

I think DPC should do a compilation of all these AMAZING poems and photos and put them together as an album or something.

I know I'd buy one

SOOOOOO refreshing to read this thread. I just came out of the rant thread after being gone for a week and this is the fresh air I needed. What an awesome idea Jeff and I am glad that Robert decided to join you.

If you need a line or two please let me know as well, I would love to help. The same sentiments as Bear I do not want to even come close to hijacking or tarnishing this thread atmosphere. As of now it is perfect for the breathing :)

"Close to Home"

I dream of a shore
from long ago.
Where cliffs and waves
stir below.
Off in the distance
a horizon of blue.
Consoles me like
an old friend would do.
I feel the sun's warmth
upon my face.
That feeling of excitement
will never erase.
But long since moving
my thoughts still roam
and bring to me
that beautiful scene
close to home.
