you could see the time in his face
you could fell his pain at a glance
but when he played
the sun did shine
from those eyes so deep in his face |

LEFT A POEM

Thank you so very much!!!! It's beautiful. It's just right. Is it allright if I print it out with the picture and give it to them? I'm sure they would love it.

Oh, yes, I was going to do that, put "Poem by Jeff Hayward" with it. Thanks again. I'll give it to them this Saturday, and report back.

What a gift, thank you SO much! |
I like horses. They seem ancient beyond understanding to me. I like them very much, and I like how they sigh :-)

I can't imagine living away from my 3 now, in truth they are well grounded and Twix's dad's breed is rooted to the center of the earth, elemental horses (Lipizzans) ...poor Twix (in the photo), my equine soulmate, got waaaay sicker today, life threatening even. Hopefully the worst is over, but the trailer is hooked up for an emergency trip for surgery, today was awful for both of us. Your poem helped me affirm how danged important she is to me. The only one uninsured though, dang it.

"Forgiven, Not Forgotten"
Stained with tearful good-byes
lies a passport of old.
Worn and torn by the years,
evidence of a story untold.
It seems his ambitions ever
kept him on the move,
leaving behind a lover's
hopeless desire to prove.
He continually heeded success's call.
Heart broken, she always remained.
Now, his only proof of existence
is captured behind an iron restraint.
A token of observation in a museum
where memories are begotten
lies his tattered passport.
He is forgiven, not forgotten.

"Alone on Sandy Beach"
Lost in a quiet moment,
peace and tranquility persuades.
A cool relaxing morning,
while the ocean serenades.
Slipping off her shoes
to feel the soothing sand,
She sits down to meditate
with simple solace in hand.
Pondering what the day may bring
or what lessons life will teach.
Time stands still as she reflects,
Alone on Sandy Beach.

Jeff is better than I am at turning the poetry tap on and off. I'm a hot-and-cold poet, I'll bring another one in sooner or later though...

Stephen
I cradled you in my palm at your frail birth
and prayed for God to keep me safe from harm,
that I might shelter you for all your years:
as my hand then, soon my encircling arm.
I studied your eyes. A tender philosophy
was there, already there, waiting for you to teach:
how in the smallest speck of sand there hangs
a world entire ΓΆ€” in everything the each.
My son, my love, let me propose this trade:
I pledge my strength to you, for all my days,
if you will lend me yours, that as you grow
I may relearn from you my childish grace.
Robt.

Wil,
I'm studying it. This stuff either comes or it doesn't. But it's a nice shot :-)

What a tremdous response from everyone! I appreciate all of your pictures and the talent they represent. I work with them one at a time, in the order that they were posted. I'll continue to write as long as you want post the photographs. As of now, I am working on "Wedded Bliss" the Las Vegas wedding.
Also, wonderful work Robert, again your latest work fits hand in hand with the photo. Jeff

I don't know them nor the photographer, I simply lent them my spot in exchange for some shots of them being shot:
