hey Matt
when that one photo book place you use says a book is 6" x 9" are they including the part that will be bound? Like do you lose a little bit of your image to the binding.

You lose a tiny bit - but it's like less than 3/8 inch. We usually just do our panos as full panos and lose a bit in the bind. We try not to put pictures down that far though.
