... today we're launching our "Face America" photo petitionĂ¢€”calling on Congress to literally look us in the eye and do the right thing.
We're aiming to collect thousands of photos of ordinary Americans with homemade signs ...

This is a great idea for a petition, IMO, it adds a bit of character to the whole thing. Wasn't there a 'not in my name' campaign similar to this?
2 things I would note: the photos with locations on them might speak out more to individual congress-people, and though flickr is a great way to collect the photos, it'd be nice to see this on a website of it's own, with a gallery better suited to showing off the images. (I'm personally not too fond of flickr's set up anyway...) (-: |

I have to admit, the idea of there being faces instead of the usual lines of names makes more of an impact. I wonder if more petitions will adopt this method. |

I thought this photograph was the best by far of the set I scanned through. It tells a story without the need for titles - One of my aims is to be able to tell stories like this in photos only. |

Interesting, some of the messages were to be expected but I think they should be putting places or districts up with the shots and then forward it to their congressperson and senators. Maybe I should put this one up of James:
with the message:
You already stole my future now you want to steal my present as well? |

I agree with Rob. That two homeless fellows sitting under the Safeway and BOA signs is an absolutely poignant image. |
