They are decent Deannda, but I would back that backdrop up a bit, and light it up a bit more on the green backdrop shots. A bit more catchlights along with this will really do them justice. Its gotta be had to shoot all the animals? I thought kids were hard. Happy Holidays!

I'm working on a wet bar, very little space up there. And yes, they can be fun! :)

Is this all your managerie? Very patient models!
The cats are great - my one try at a cat, well, the cat was not happy at all. You need to give me lessons!
I like the red table covering (assuming a table...). What is it? I used white..i like red MUCH better. Have to add something red to my shopping list...my pet pics start this saturday!
Your backdrop, particularly the gold one, needs to be 5 FEET behind the subject - it will blur much better that way - is a good example...unfortunately, it takes a combo of aperture, focal length, distance to the subject and the distance of the BG form the subject. basically you want teh BG farther away from the subject than you are.

I love Happy Holidays, Three Kittens, and Four Kittens... but what I don't love is the gold backdrop. I also wonder if it will play havoc with your flash and lights since it's so reflective. If you back it up as parrothead suggested, it would look nicer. You can see the wrinkles/folds in it, which I don't think looks as good as it could be. You are definitely on the right track though. Good luck and I wish you the best! :) |

I am going to try to set up something different today, with a card table in front of the wet bar, giving me more distance from the backdrop to the subject. And while I LOVE the gold backdrop, it is distracting in then end, think I'll use it on the table for a cover with the green screen set up in the back. I also got some green and gold wrapping paper and am going to make my own backdrop to look like a package with the bows. Gonna be a busy day!
Thanks again for the comments, keep them coming!

Yes, all mine but I'm going to have to break out the tuna soon to keep the cats from running from me, LOL :)
I like the red too but it really overpowers in some shots to me so I'm leaning more towards the green and gold right now. Stay tuned for TAKE FOUR, coming to a PBase account near you soon! ;)
