I think the camera and lens databases here are excellent. I think an interesting upgrade to that system would be "Lens Accessories". Some examples of lens accessories would be:
Teleconverters
Extension Tubes
Filters
The accessories database wouldn't really have to be extensive. The makes and models of this gear is not really as critical as their functions in photography. When we add an image, select the camera and lens, there may be lens accessories in use that really effect the image and there is no way to list it other than in the photographer's comments...

I agree. I look at the lens database all the time...it helps me with my lens "wish list." But I always find myself going to other sites for additional information. Why not make DP the Mecca of camera/lens/accessory info?

Having info attached to shots that includes use of teleconverters and extension tubes would be a good addition and likely not a ton of work. But adding filters might be a stretch as their are so many differnet brands and types.

I'd really like to see the lens ratings come online. There's a spot for it, but it says something like "Coming Soon". If DPCers could rate lenses and equipment, I would probably use their opinions exclusivly in choosing my new toys.
