Hi thanks for responding..

firstly the wedding is for people that i do not know, it will be held at a mexican bar (insert funny comment here). I dont think they have a great deal of money but they do have a budget for a photographer. I want to know 2 things mainly-

1. How much do I charge
2. My lens selection is a bit NON WEDDING so I think I may use the 24-120 VR with my SB800
Please suggest any others I have that would be best.

The bar is quite tight and quite dark too, Im thinking of asking the bride and groom to come out with me 1 day earlier to a Flower garden to take some shots they might want to keep.. I just dont think wedding shots at a BAR would look good on the fireplace...

Any help would be appreciated thank you.

How much to charge is always an issue, especially if you are just starting out! I've only been doing weddings for just over a year and I still keep myself pretty cheap compared to others around my way. I start a cheap wedding from $400(Aus) which includes photographing the brides arrival, ceremony, some formal photos with bridal party and guests and mock cake cutting etc. They get a proof album with about 250 - 300 photos for that. I go up to about $900(Aus) for visiting brides home etc before wedding and staying longer into reception. They purchase proper albums and prints etc from the proofs.

My last wedding I used a Tamron SP AF 28-75mm XR pretty much exclusively, all shot in RAW with a 420EX flash for fill, examples of these are below.

I would speak to them if they would like some photos done in a garden somewhere near the restaurant. I agree that they may not want photos just in a mexican bar. Just remember if you do them the day before everyone will have to get dressed up so that may not be good. They usually have makeup and hair done especially for the day.
