A valiant effort for sure!

You have been a favorite photographer of mine for a while now. Your words or opinions have not influenced that inthe least. I really like your perspective and eye for the shot. Your processing has never been overdone, that I have seen, and always seemed more pointed towards the artistic side as opposed to the 'get the vote side' which has always been a plus in my book.

I can see where people have taken a hard impression towards you, but as I have said in posts more than once, you are honest. People may not agree with your particular take on a subject, but your honesty should have always counted for something. And it has in my book.

In a community such as this there are always going to be negatives and positives. The trick is to weigh those two sides against each other and come up with a middle ground you are comfortable with. I just wish more people would put that scale to use.

You have a great eye for the capture and personally feel your work has always expressed your personality best. I hope this latest endeavor of yours is for your own reasons and not for the sake of fellow forum posters. Just keep the camera batteries charged and the shutter button not too far away as I enjoy your work!

I think you'll do just fine!
(I've never had a grudge against you as far as I can remember, have I?)

For your first act of community service, may I suggest you go revive all the threads I've managed to kill today? Not sure if it's me or if there's just a pall cast over the site lately--but I'm becoming a bit paranoid....

If you figure out how to do it, let me know. I know at least one other person (points finger at this guy) who could use a little calming down.

ROFL! I'd like to go with "amazing" and "brilliant"...anyone have a crash course in self-delusion handy?

Well, you sure have never offended me...I am a relatively new here ( and mostly ignored, I am a thread killer, too !!!!)
But I did look at your shots ( beauty) and I read some of your comments and you sure seemed to be a rather amiable dude to me.
I am guessing you have your reasons, but I wanted to say way to go!...It takes alot of courage to own up to ones own crap :))

You have not offended me. I am hard to keep down, or perhaps i am too fogiving. I don't hold grudges, too much to do in life to have time for that.

Try meditation - it works. And if you do it right, you can do out of body traveling and stuff. That's what i hear, and well, i wanna find out! It does mellow you.

From this day forward, I pledge to GIVE BACK to the community. I plan to become more active in the critique club, offer comments and constructive help whenever and wherever possible.

I intend to stray away from the negativity that has been associated with me and that I seem to attract like a magnet.

Please, if you have a question that you are afraid to ask for whatever reason, send me a PM...I will not think your question is stupid or judge you. If I do not know the answer, I will do my best to try and find the answer.

Through these methods, I intend to not only better the community, but to further my knowledge in photography as well.

Wow, that Zoloft really does amazing things. Personally, I will miss the sharp wit

;) And when you've finished reviving KaDi's dead threads you could head on over to mine :)) Must admit I've always appreciated the honesty you give with your critiques......learned a lot from them. Thanks David!

Dave- I don't recall you ever rubbing me the wrong way personally, although I do have a pretty poor memory :-), and my feathers don't ruffle easily. I have seen a lot of folks here involved in various 'flame wars' and controversy, but I just take that all in stride as part of the territory. I do think it takes a big man though, to publicly admit flaws like this that he sees in himself, and the desire and goals for change. I sense a lot of sincerity in your post, and wish you the best of luck, life is way too short to live it negatively. I think you are already taking a big step in the right direction just in seeing where you are at and looking to where you want to be. :-)

Must have been a day for the rending of souls, and the stifling of expression.

in order to stay on topic, here is the definition of "pledge" from dictionary.com:

pledge
n.
A solemn binding promise to do, give, or refrain from doing something: signed a pledge never to reveal the secret; a pledge of money to a charity.

Something given or held as security to guarantee payment of a debt or fulfillment of an obligation.
The condition of something thus given or held: put an article in pledge.
Law.
Delivery of goods or personal property as security for a debt or obligation: a loan requiring a pledge of property.
The contract by which such delivery is made.
A token or sign: âfair pledges of a fruitful treeâ (Robert Herrick).
A person who has been accepted for membership in a fraternity or similar organization and has promised to join but has not yet been initiated.
The act of drinking in honor of someone; a toast.
A vow to abstain from alcoholic liquor: ex-drinkers who have taken the pledge.

YOU PICKED THE WRONG DEFINITION, I MEANT 'A TOKEN'

YOU SEE, IN THE DICTIONARY, WHERE IT HAS LIKE 10 DEFINITIONS, THOSE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE OR'S, NOT ANDS...

AND QUIT DELETEING MY POSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the definiton of pledge as token does not really make sense in the context of what you "pledged". Other defintions make much more sense. Also, I have not deleted any of your posts.

Well I'm sorry that I didn't use the exact definition of the word that you would like to make your arguement sound better...Unfortunately for you, I'm allowed to use any definition of any word that I like on any given day of the week, and being that I am the one that used the word pledge, I will say what I meant, and you should accept that.
