I think everyone else here is feeling the same way about the point you are attempting to make. Notice that it has always been this way, and it has never caused a problem. Don't fix it if it ain't broke (and you're the only one that thinks theres a crack in the system).
Edit - grammar

I seriously don't believe you think this is a problem. These have been posted for ribbon winners - why didn't you complain then?

I guess if you check your profile you might notice a change in your position. I think the dq announcement would have passed unnoticed but for the posting of the photo... |

The top entries are subject to validation after the results are posted. It's not uncommon for a ribbon winner to get DQ'd at that point, and the next entry moves up to take its place. It's only fair to call attention to the change so the new ribbon winner can enjoy the spotlight, and it makes sense to have the same policy for other entries as well (especially since there's no harm in doing so). |

Yes, I am sure if you didn't post the change in a ribbon winner no one would notice. ;-)

At which point, you might be inclined to post a thread wondering what happened. Of course, if the change was announced publicly, there would be no reason to wonder... ;-) |

Remember all dq's are posted at the end of challenges. Is this a new practice? Maybe you could announce this on a forum to let everyone know....... :-p |

Every once in a while, the SC forgets to announce that a DQ has occurred and the results have been recalculated. A new thread will ALWAYS pop up within 30 minutes (usually much faster) from someone who noticed. |

you know what azoychka, if you are so worried about a DQ being announced on the front page, i suggest you stop posting in this thread. Because every time you post it resets it right to the top forum post on the front page. This would have been far gone if you hadn't spent 3 pages questioning the system that works for eveyone but yourself. |

Too often what works has does so out of habit or disinterest and 'that' does not make it a reasonable practice on a site for beginner photographers, who desire to learn. |

Yeah... there ARE exceptions. We're not going to post child porn or someone else's work, for example. MOST DQs are posted, though. |

Just a quick count of this thread showed 16 that support or feel no need to question the way SC announce DQ's, and 1 does not. Nope doesnt seem of habit or disinterest or we 16 would not have posted here. It works. We like it. Let it lie.

There is an element of the 'parade of the quilty' to this and sadly, human history is filled with arguments of why it is ok to happen..........

For the person who moves up a place it's very important. Again, this is a standard practice. DQ's that come through after the results are calculated are announced in the forums. This allows the users who move up a place to get more views.

Yeah, so people don't do it again.
"Hey, this entry was DQ's after the challenge because it's SEVEN images in one. Don't do that."

Really? The motive is to get more views? What do more views accomplish? Standard practice does not make it a good practice.
