I want a good polarizing filter...I've heard that Nikon makes the best polarizing filters but they are pretty expensive.

Is that true? Any other brands you love?

Hoya Multi Coated ones, B & W, Tiffen are some of the big names.

I use Tiffen filters, which are not very expensive but seem to work great.

I stacked a polarizer with a 812 warming filter for this sunrise photo. It has always done a good job for me.

There's a warming polarizer called the "Moose Filter" in case anyone is looking for one. Named after a photographer.

I think most consider B+W and Hoya (multi coated) polarizers as one of the best and most expensive. I think they run over $100.

I use a cheap polarizer from Hoya or S$W brand from ebay for about $20-30 and haven't really noticed any obvious degradation. I was also reading on Popular Photography and they state that they could see any difference in the pictures between expensive and cheap versions of the same filters.

Cheap vs. the most expensive filters is an area of big debate among photogs, so you'll get various responses.

Good luck.
