I'm starting to play with the GIMP for Windows. Anyone else tried it? How would you compare it to Adobe Photoshop?

I've used GIMP almost exclusively for the past 8 months or so and love it. I used a trial version of Photoshop CS2 for a while (however long the trial is for) and found that much of the functionality was similar enough that I could find my way around pretty easily. Photoshop is definitely more powerful and flexible, but GIMP has been more than adequate for my purposes.

i use it exclusively and the only problem is documentation for instruction is limited...but there are a few good online resource plus one book out for earlier version but most things you can figure out by following PHOTOSHOP instructions and just knowing what the GIMP equivalent is.....

I love it and the price was right....
