After the last two challenges, and older ones, I believe I found where I have a place to go to get great scores. All these shots are within 1/2 mile of each other. I need to get there at least once a month. :)

7th Place 6.680
11th Place 6.428
15th Place 6.248
24th Place 6.458
44th Place 6.116

I don't say this to be rude but I am amazed by the scores these have received. I personally just don't think they look good. The scene is beautiful and the compositions and colors are great with lots of potential. However, something seems consistently odd with the processing, as if they are slightly out of focus or they have been oversharpened. With better processing I could see each of these being bumped up at least 5 spots in the voting.

Ya, I need to use my D70 the next time. Those are all Coolpix 990 shots. Good observation. Latest two shots, I wanted to have a wide angle view, I don't have less than 50mm for D70. Maybe I'll have to get one someday. Van

Ah ha! I knew something was up! Bring that camera you spent all those bucks on -- I would. :)

Van, You have some wonderful images. I've been watching your work since you commented on one of my images that I had a "Sammie style." Since then, I've had a chance to get to know Sammie a bit, and to watch you place quite well.

I do have to commend you on a great choice of camera. I think you'll grow to love it.
