...is not working properly. It gave my vote (the only one so far, it says) to the wrong option.

How come this wasn't adopted if that many people wanted "limited filters, spot editing allowed"?

It's very strange that that page is showing those results. the ACTUAL results for that poll are as follows...
No restrictions on editing 50
Unlimited use of filters, no spot editing 34
Limited use of filters only, spot editing allowed 56
Limited use of filters, no spot editing (like current rules) 213
More restrictive editing rules 37
390 users participated.
There is definately something messed up there. I'll pass this along to Drew. |

There is quite a bug in the polls that needs ironing out. I'll investigate it in the morning and see if I can figure out why it's reporting different numbers.
Sorry for the problems.

Now that we know the REAL result of that poll, the question should be "Why are we still discussing it?" when a clear majority decided they like things the way they are.

sigh. things change. life changes. i dont remember when this poll was taken, but considering that when i joined there were a couple of hundred members--now there are several thousand--------danged if it might not be time to do it again. if the stats stay the same--so be it; but why try and keep it static against the flow of humanity?

This poll was barely a few months ago as I recall. But this is academic because there IS another poll going on. The early results look good to me.

cool--thanks heather! so, barely 7 months after i joined--when dpc was going thru major upheavals--all for the better i might add--and 9 months since then. not a whole lot of time in the general scheme of things--but if you look at the numbers---and the skyrocketing membership since then...well. it remains to be seen, for sure.

The numbers are currently running at more than 2 to 1 against changes to the regular weekly challenges. I sure hope this puts an end to the debate for at least another 12 months.

Or you could read the results in another totally biased way and say that less than 15% think that things are fine as they are ; )

To All of those who commented that it was shame that in my magazine cover entry my wife's face was shaded by her hat, I hope you are voting to change the spot editing rules..... a little dodging on her face would have improved what was both an impossible situation to rectify and certainly not something that could be reshot..... unless I photographed another runner.... which I didn't.... so don't use that excuse against me ;-)
PS. I haven't included the image here coz I can't for the life of me get it to work in the preview.... so go to my profile and have a look if you feel the need. |

I voted for "Allow more editing techniques to be used in the weekly challenges". I don't like the rules as they currently are and I don't like 'unlimited' editing either simply because of the past results I have seen of that here already. |

Dumb question - where are the polls on the site? All I can find is archived poll results and I can only get to those via links in this thread.

I'm not sure I like the idea of allowing more editing. It's hard enough competing around here without the top photographers having access to relaxed editing. It would be darn near inmpossible with the Pro's out there doing there thing. Heck, I'm sure some of you guys do it for a living. If it is allowed though, I guess I'll just have to get better in order to compete. We'll see.
