To most that is Bondage...but I don't know anything about that sort of thing! I'm just an innocent who stumbled upon it on a web search?? Um, really, it's true...gotta go now!

there was no sensual bondage-idea behind this photo formerlee, just a little experimental thing ;)
I just like to know what you guys think of the photo, what to improve?

Damn! Um, okay...as a photo experiment, I guess it is pretty cool. I like the effect and the hint of menace..would say more, but it's time for my tablets.

This could be an out-take for the 'what?' challenge! I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. I like the fact that you included the knot on one of them to make sure we realize that the material is tied to you. But, two strips above and below the nose....leaves me wondering what it is you're telling me. If they would be covering your eyes, used as a gag (or just covering your mouth), covering from your nose down (kind of a scarf), etc... then I could more easily read what the message is. There is a lot of emotion in your expression that you would want to be careful not to loose, though. Just my cold-medicine induced opinion... :-)

I agree. Tried it before this one, but it was pretty hard to tie them up the way I wanted it, with the expression on my face like this one. Maybe sometime I'll try it again with your suggestions!

Much appreciated!

Speaking grammatically, if you are in bonds you are bound up. So "bound" is correct. "Bondage" is, among other things (and perhaps most familiarily) a subset of being bound up with sexual overtones. However, "bondage" has a broader meaning in the sense that you can be "in bondage" to any of a number of things. W. Somerset Maugham wrote a famous novel titled "Of Human Bondage" about the ideas and conceptions that bound us, that keep us from being completely free.
But yes, "Bound" is the correct title for this image, or perhaps "Bound Up"...
But then, of course, sometimes our knowledge advances in leaps and bounds; Kangaroos "bound" as their preferred locomotive device. It's a funny language...

Thank you Robert!
Sometimes it's really annoying if English isn't your first language. Hope you guys forgive me ;) |
