Eesh, I spent a week on Skye last year, never stopped raining, and don't mention midges! Never again... Great photos though, the light is amazing, and the sunsets...!

Well, i suppose i could, but it's really far away :'( And the last time i was up around there i had a head-on collision on one of those lovely single-track roads, which has instilled some phobias :S

Sorry you can't get here riot. Our numbers seem to be diminishing quickly!
Was it somethiong I said!?? :)

Anyway Barbaraanne, Falc and Bod, you should have a pm about meeting up including mobile numbers etc. I think John has said 6.45am at Pately Bridge for a early walk (hoping for some misty shots), breakfast somewhere, then it's still 10am at Brimham Rocks cafe for the later people. We'll follow this with Fountains Abbey and then Thorpe Perrow. Meal at my place and a drink at the pub after for anyone who wants to come. Benhur is with us now and we're off to shoot some pics up in the dales today. Weather looks as if it might be good.
If anyone else wants to join us just add to this thread today and we'll email you details of addresses and contact numbers.

Pauline

PS Scotland sounds great for spring - count us in! (i've never been to Skye)

Hi all,

Just borrowing Pauline's PC to check for updates (can't leave that button alone), having a great time, taken loads of pics and deleted even more.
Will post some next week when I am back home and had chance to have a firtle.
Hoping to see a few more 2moro, Falc, Bod etc etc.

Skye - Sound great I was going to go up a few weeks ago but couldn't get the time off work, what I am hoping to do is to fly from Nottingham East Midlands Airport up to Glasgow and Hire a car for a week to drive up there, once dates etc have been sorted if anyone wants to meet me at Glasgow and share the cost/driving of the hire car that would be great.
Start a new thread nearer the time so we can get dates organised.
Should be fun.

final final bump!

Just got home - picked up the pm with meet details.

I'll be there for the early meet. I guess the best route is up the A1 to Ripon then across to Pateley Bridge, or is it better to go through Knaresborough?
10/28/2005 04:44:29 PM · #35
I think you are better off coming through Ripon not Knaresborough. John and Benhur are down the pub so I can't check ( can't find my way out of a paper bag!) but if I am wrong he will let you know when they get back. Had a good day today and looking forward to tomorrow. ( I probably won't make the early shoot but will see you at Brimham. John & Ben will be at Pateley. Barbaranne & Stuart will meet us at Brimham.)

Until tomorrow!

Just like to say thanks to Pauline and John for organising a great day, and here's the one you missed - York Minster after dark.

I'll post more later.

Glad you gor home safely, Keith. Really enjoyed your company and your input. You missed out on a great lasagne and a couple of bottles of wine! We'll get over to York to see the Minster lit up this week - it looks brilliant! We'll post some of our pics tomorrow.

Thanks also to Ben, Barabara and Stuart for wonderful company and making new friends. Hope to see you all again really soon now you know where we are.

Hope the London GTG also went well - shall expect to see some photos from that soon.

Hope you all had a great time. Pauline, the tree in that first shot is the same tree as in this:

Glad everyone enjoyed themselves.
I've put up a lot of photos in my portfolio of the whole weekend.
Cod Beck Reservoir at Osmotherly and Richmond Castle on Friday with Ben ( Benhur)
Brimham Rocks, Fountains Abbey and Thorp Perrow on Saturday with Barbara(Barbaraanne) and Stuart (Stupot) and Keith (Falc) on Saturday.

And of course John (P2jvr) was there as well!

Any comments on any of the shots would be appreciated - some were experimental postp. so interested to know if they work.

For anyone else thinking of organising a GTG, go ahead! We really enjoyed the whole weekend and everyone was great fun to be with.

Just a small selection, there are a few more in my portfolio. A very enjoyable day, many thanks for your hospitality. I'm just raising a glass to you both.
