That's interesting... you can't submit a photo of a recognizable person to this contest without a release. After reading that, I didn't read further. I guess they plan to use some of the images in their advertising or something. |

If they're gonna be that picky - I hope the part you didn't read included a release to USE the photo you submit! |

I'll read it closer later but it looks interesting and if you get the right shot who says a face has to be in it?

Here it is:
The photographer must hold the copyright to all photos he or she submits to the contest. Photographs that violate the laws of copyright will be disqualified.
By submitting your image to the Pro Football Hall of Fame/Canon, U.S.A., Inc. Photography Challenge, you hereby grant permission and rights to store, display, and use the image, its thumbnails, and your name as the photographer, to post of the Hall of Fame̢۪s website and to promote the contest in the future without additional compensation.
Heck, if I won this thing the publicity alone would be worth it to me, LOL! :)

These are of kids football games. I bet if you get a good photo with a kids face the parents would be honored to have their kids picture used. I can't see where having to get a release form is that big of a deal. I have never had any problem getting one from parents of childrens photos I have taken. Heck, tell them if you win the big prize you'll take them along on some of the trips. :) |

Is the person legaly "recognizable" if you can see the number and name on the back of thier jersy, but not thier face? (it could be someone else wearing the shirt...) |
