I made another trip to Woodward Camp today for the NBL Nationals. My last trip was for the Gravity Games. Once again Woodward did an excellent job hosting an event.

If you live near Woodward PA, there is another race tomorrow (9-25-2005)

BMX!!

Love your pics, takes me back---

I was sponsered by SE Racing back in the early 80's--

Pure Racing has got overshadowed by freestyle these days, no racing in the X-games..

Great pics, and I would love to see more if you have them to share....

Nice Work.

Raced a PK-Ripper, had a quad angle also, it was a bit heavy, when I finally quit racing, I was on a Redline Pro-Line2--
This is a great thread, BMX racing is a lost art!!

It's not in the X games, but it will be in the next Olympics.

I had a Ripper and a Quadangle at one time. Raced on a Supergoose though.

Gosh, I wish my old bones could still take it. Here's me circa 1982-84 with my trick bike the Quadangle and my race bike from my co-sponsor Hutch . They eventually dropped me for breaking frames;-)

You sure your sponsor wasn't Ocean Pacific? ;) I really dig the threads...I think I had that same t-shirt and I know my brother had those shorts! :)

Me too. Watching all those people racing yesterday really had me jonesin' to ride. I fought back the temptation by reviewing the scars from my racing days (two broken wrists, 9 shoulder dislocations, two shoulder surgeries, 2 concusions, and several chunks missing from my shins).

Hutch made sweet frames back in the day. It has been a long time since I have seen a checked pad like the one in your picture. And the canvas, two color Vans.... classic!

Back then I think 95% of my wardrobe was OP. Its seems every photo from that time frame had the same ugly, yellow and extremely short corduroy shorts.

Between bicycles & motorcycles I had 51 broken bones incuding almost a year spent in a halo from a broken neck in 87'. I set off metal detectors from the close to a pound of stainless steel in my shoulder and take daily medicine for my arthritis, but you know I wouldn't trade those memories for anything.

Remember their rat trap pedals? Mom made me get ride of them after the second trip to get stiches.
