Who are your favorite photographers (non-DP)? Everybody knows Ansel Adams...but who are some of the other "greats" out there. I've learned a lot about photography itself, but I think my overall "education" would be enhanced by knowing who some of the best photographers are (past and present). I've seen a lot of great pictures (all-genres), but I don't know any names!

Oh I thought you were talking about me...

Well I'll just add Sally Mann to the list and glide away.

I've got a couple of turkish and russian photographers I really admire, but you wouldn't know them, plus most of them don't have a website.

Just FYI, there was a thread similar to this recently:
Which Photogrphers do you Admire?

Tom Mangelson, I actually got to meet him recently too!

One of my favorites:

(I asked him how he got this when I met him, total accident, right place right time, he was waiting for a ride after shooting bears all morning when it happened)

Have to say Edwin Curtis, and of course, L J M Daguerre, and a few other of the early pioneers.

Daguerre wasn't that great photographer, he just invented one of the first photographing technique..

I thenk Bresson is one of the top 5 of the worlds greatest photographers, the other 4 places on top 5 you can argue about ;)
