I read the other day the great cinematographer (DP) Guy Green died. It really got me thinking that a couple of my favorite photographers don’t shoot stills but moving pictures. Currently my favorite photographers are…

Galen Rowell
Nick Nichols
William Eggleston
Clyde Butcher
Conrad Hall (dp)
Ansel Adams
Sally Mann
Richard Avedon
Brett Weston (& of course Edward also)
Gregg Toland (dp)

Yours?

Sandy Skoglund... Very interesting images. Did she do Radioactive Cats? I really loved that image.

Edit:

Yea, she did radioactive cats. I remember seeing that photo is Life's greatest photos of the 80s.

I cant belive that Henri Cartier-Bresson hasn't been mentioned, the master of the decicive moment. If Adams is the master of waiting for the light to be there, Cartier-Bresson was the master of capturing the perfect action.
