We had a challenge called Irony, back in Sept of 03. As I remember it drew a lot of questions and not too many entries. Lots of people don't understand irony, not all of them are American.

I really do not appreciate your insulting of Americans and their understanding of Irony - or anything else for that matter. Who the hell are you to determine what Americans do or do not understand. I am sick and tired of the anti-american sentiment here on DPC. You don't see Americans insulting those of other countries here - but too often I am reading comments that are just pure ignorant, such as yours.

You shouldn't get upset like that. You must try to understand where those kind of impression come from. Take popular american cinema comedie(I am a big cinema fan, american and foreign), a great deal of blockbuster rely more on 1st degre humor than anything else. I don't pretend seeing every movie ever made, but the last trully remarquable comedie out of Hollywood was Get Shorty, and it didn't break the roof.
I agree with you that generalization often lead to regreatful comments.

It's ironic how Americans don't seem to see how ironic America has really become in recent years. The irony of this entire thing is that it doesn't really matter.
