Hi Friends
Given the existence of DPC Prints, this may seem an odd question, but I'm looking for recommendations of sites that will allow to me to sell high quality (archival paper, accurate printing) digital photographic prints to people located in UK, USA and India first, rest of world second.
Many of the images will be (good quality) scans of photographs I've taken on film over the years. I've already had some requests from friends who want to buy a print of one or other picture of mine so I'm confident I can sell at least a low volume of prints.
I'm not currently intending to pay for DPChallenge membership though I will certainly consider doing so when/ if I decide to start participating in more challenges.
As I understand it, I would need to pay for DPChallenge membership in order to sell prints on the DPC Prints site. Is that correct?
If so, I wonder whether restricting use of DPC Prints to paying DPChallenge members only is actually dramatically slowing the potential growth of the site? I imagine DPC Prints services would appeal to (and could generate income from) non DPChallenge users too. Surely the more people selling prints the better in terms of increasing traffic and thus improving sales for DPChallenge users of it too?
Anyway, can anyone recommend other sites which I assume will allow me to sell similar quality prints without initial joining fee?
Many thanks and kind regards

Could you do it yourself K? With something like a paypal account, and with the quality of Fuji's on-line service (which allows you to specify a delivery address) it oughtn't to be too hard?
What you get for your money here, of course, is the exposure to the dpc audience, and the guy's marketing process - sure, you pay for it, and split the profit, but it's early days as yet.

edit: from another thread, check out how this guy does it: splut

Hi Ed
I couldn't hope to generate the traffic if I did it on my own site, I think. I am looking for a site that, like DPC Prints, allows me to upload and sell to friends and strangers both.
I don't mind that 50% of the profits from each print go to support the DPChallenge site - they should cover cost of hosting, maintenance and, eventually, once the site grows, profit too. But I think that 50% is sufficient - I don't want to pay an initial joining fee as well.
Know of any other sites that offer similar financial split on the prints side but without the initial payment?
(profit = price - costs ... profit split 50/50 between site and vendor)

I understand from Terry (Clubjuggle) that Drew and Langdon are working on a referral program of some sort - no details yet but it sounds as though this might up the % of profit a photographer gets to keep as well as earn income for others who bring new buyers into DPC Prints.
Dependent on details this sounds like a superb idea and may make it more worthwhile to pay membership. (For me, I accept it's already worthwhile for other).
Looking fwd to hearing more.
:o)

Do they have browsing traffic like DPC Prints is aiming to attract?
Thanks John...
But I'm definitely going to wait and hear about the referrals thing. I think that will be a positive thing for me as I'm anticipating a few sales to friends who have expressed interest. I doubt strangers will want my stuff but who knows...
