Glad you're feeling better. Take a trip across the pond sometime if you get the chance and visit. It's not that far.

I'm feeling 90% better now thanks! Will one day get across that pond, still trying to master the walking on water bit. Until then, I'll have to pay for a flight, who knows :)

What I am thankful for?
For my hubby, my sister, my ma and my pops - I adore all of them. And for my wider family too.
For my friends - I think I must be the luckiest girl alive when I consider how many wonderful friends I have to share life with.
For my life - how lucky are we to born to the lives we have - we may struggle sometimes but we have it far better than a huge part of the world's population.
For the opportunities I have now.
And also for the ability to dream of everything that might be in the future.
EDIT: But NOT for my typo-brain! ;o)

For this day.. all the days gone by and for the possiblities of tomorrow.
For the magic that surrounds me taking the form of people, places, things and Love.
For all the bad bits that make me appreciate the good ones that much more.
and for being able to ~Twirl~ whenever I get the urge ~smile~
Thanks for such an uplifting thread...

I did a "Grateful For..." Theme for my June PaD. That's the only month I've done a theme, and it was wonderful!

My sense of humor--it has carried me through every rough spot in my life.
That things could be worse--always, there is someone who suffers more in every minute of every day than I may in my whole life.
Companionship--in the waiting room, in the supermarket line, in a traffic jam, there are always people near me sharing an experience, ready to chat about the weather or the price of kumquats.
Music and Poetry (the music of words)--the soothing rhymes that carry my mind away from the earthly, grounded, gritty things and make me know my soul is like an angel, free to soar above the things that tie my body to the soil. |

I'm most thankful for kisses and hugs from my little boys and the way my husband makes me laugh and that I'm lucky enough to wake up to them every day.

I'm grateful for a lot....
I wake up every morning in a nice warm bed to a cup of hot coffee and good breakfast.
I have a job that I like working with people I like, for the most part.
I have a loving husband who is tolerant of my idiosyncracies (sp?) and encourages of my hobbies. I have a small but fairly normal family and I am about to be a grandmother for the first time :)
I have my freedom - to speak, pursue dreams, travel wherever I want and the resources to do that.
I have a wonderful loving dog who is the 1st thing I see when I wake up in the morning and who makes me smile.
Oh, and the beginning of the NFL season :)

Eyesight. Hearing. Taste. Touch. Smell. Emotion.
It is one thing to enjoy good things with these senses, but I am truly thankful for all of them. Even when there is nothing good to experience. I appreciate my eyes even if there is nothing good to look at (makes me take a lot of pictures that look good but are essentially boring though :), hearing when there is nothing to hear. I enjoy the sense of taste even though I may be eating a rotten apple. OK, I'll have to skip the touch one. I'm thankful for it, but I don't honestly enjoy that sense much. :(. I live in a place where it is easy to smell bad things, and yet I still feel it is a wonderful gift.
Finally emotions, both good and bad, strong and weak are the things that make us us. They separate us from the animals. They provide the complexity that is required to enjoy life sustainably for an eternity.
Some people say you can't really appreciate something until it's gone. I don't agree. I feel it is merely that most people don't appreciate things until they are gone. It just takes a little work to learn how to fully appreciate a given thing. |
