So are you suggesting an overhaul of SC??? I read the thread after it was locked and it was lock because of that other loser making fun of you or your commenting. It was becoming personal and SC did say that if it didn't stop (crap coming from him) they would be forced to lock the thread. I ddn't see any point at that time to lock it but I guess they just can't lock that one person out(NOT THAT THAT'S AN ANSWER). I tend to agree that SC as a collective is a little lose to some and not others and there is definiately some unfair treatment going around.

Alienyst, I am sorry that this happend. I am taking it seriously and it is being addressed. This isn't SC covering eachother's backs contrary to what you may thing. Mind you, I'm not going to be able to change your mind one way or the other. I didn't hide your original thread, and this one only got locked for about 30 seconds by accident while I was still trying to wake up first thing. So again, my apologies.

Would you please PM details on this to GeneralE. He's usually online enough during the day. Or you can send it directly to Drew and Langdon via the Contact us. Don't send it to me, cause I gotta get to work.

As a reminder- I volunteer to do this. I don't get paid. I don't get recognition. I get yelled at, called names, get nasty PMs in my inbox, and generally spend about half my time asking why I do this.

I do this to help a community I love and enjoy being a part of. So you guys might want to think about that while you are hurling the nasty PMs in my direction okay? I'm here because I care. Keep that in mind.

If I understand his emails, Manic deleted the thread. According to him, stealing my image is a 'private matter' and not public. However, it only became a 'private matter' when I mentioned his name and the name he supplied me in the thread. And even then, he was not mentioned in a bad way and the other person was not identified by nic, only first name...if I remember correctly, the sentence was "...Manic removed it at my request." I guess he is trying to protect his 'not affiliated with DPChallenge' claim for the Fanatics chat. The thread was posted last night. It died quickly and there was not one response to it. I posted to it this morning and it was promptly removed.

I'd suggest you rethink the reasons why you were probably banned...swearing was the least of the issues.

I can't believe how this community has digressed over the past 18 months. The complaining, the attitudes, the egoism, the sheer volume of negativity that fills the forums makes me want to lose my lunch some days. I used to participate for fun. Now I'm not sure why I log in at all anymore.

You were not banned for swearing, we all swear. You were banned for insulting people and making lewd remarks. It is not a personal issue between you and Manic, as a matter of fact, Manic was reluctant to ban you until people started sending in requests and he looked through the logs and saw what was going on. Before you go insulting people please take a good look at your actions.

Nah - i'm just suggesting *someone* say *something* to the parties involved if a thread is locked. Especially in the case of unfair treatment. I have asked for further info on the matter, and havent recieved a peep. I wanted the other person involved to take it to PM (as a stated sereal times) so i could get on using the thread as it was meant to be used. Everyone wanting to talk about commenting on the low scoring shoes lost that previliage, and because i have been ignored it feels like i have done something wrong.
I am sure it is not intentional, but a quick note wouldn't take more than a minute. Plenty of others PM'd me saying they hoped i wouldnt leave/ quit comment/ get kicked off the site for it. So i am sure that i am not the only one that feels i was made to look like i did something wrong.

Oooh... I missed all the fun, but I can guess what happened.

It looks like somebody created a smiley (in jest) for Alienyst, which he didn't appreciate. Now, to be honest I didn't check into Fanatics to look at it, but if somebody literally drew an icon from the photo, then that's not quite the same as stealing your photo. I'm pretty sure I could draw my own picture of your photo or sing a Beatles tune and you'd have a tough time bringing a copyright infringement case unless I tried to profit by passing it off as your work. Basically, drawing a caricature of your photo is legal whether you like it or not.

Issue #2 is that Alienyst cried foul in a DPC forum. Since the offender might not even be reading the DPC forums (which the lack of response would suggest), and technically didn't do anything illegal (see above), the right approach would have been to notify an admin or Manic on the Fanatics site. DPC has no jurisdiction over the Fanatics site, so Manic probably hid the thread as it served no purpose here... unless you were trying to get even more people to look at the offending icon.

Rumors of SC favoritism or MIB conspiracies are completely unfounded. Now please direct your attention to this neuralyzer..

Let's face the fact... it's all about me. This rampant thread hiding is detracting from the entertainment-value of the DPC forums for me.

I would like to make a motion that no thread be locked or hidden until I have posted to it giving the go-ahead for such action.

Do I have a second?
