What would you have rated this in the high contrast competition? My current photo is getting a beating. :-(

I would have given it a 7. It meets the challenge, is correct to 1/3rd rule, maybe not the most interesting subject, but still good enough to make you look twice.

Shame you didn't enter it.

fyi: i moved this thread to the "Individual Photograph Discussion" forum.

otherwise, i think it's an excellent shot in both color and framing. my only comment is that it's lacking something central in it to act as the subject. if there was a cow or a person or something on the horizon, it might give the viewer someplace to "lock on." as it is, it's gorgeous but lacking a story.

yeah I kinda of envisaged it as a arty postcard photo. No central subject!

cheers

It meets the challenge, it is a nice color contrast, but it is to even it needs something somewere to make a good composition, I don't know like a tree or an object or something. I don't know if it makes sense. I would of gave this a 5 or a 6, simply because it is not too interesting.

Also while we are at it, I see alot of people entered with color contrast images but 99% of them are blue/orange, I know this is the most common one but I wish people would tried others too.

I agree with your analysis. Would have received same score from me.
