How would this have done in the Duotone challenge?

I'm guessing low 6, high 5. I would have given it a 6, possibly 7. Technically good, well composed, but it's not a particularly beautiful horse.

I probably would have given it a 5 or 6. The composition is very nice, and the background works to set a mood, but the upper background is so blown out white it is affecting the furry part inside the horse's ear. And the subject is not my favorite, in general, and as greenem said it's not particularly a beautiful horse. I really like the fuzz by his mouth, but might have liked the mane behind his neck to be in focus as well. The expression on the horse's face is good, sort of looks resigned and tired to me.

I would have given you a 10. I love that shot, but I also like your other shot. I love the wild look of the horse. I love how I can even see his whiskers on his chin.

Many thanks to Sonifo for pointing out that you DID enter a duotone. Now that one I really like! I would have probably given you an 8 or 9 on the one you did enter, had I been a member. There's more texture, more happening in that photo. It tells me a story, makes me react, and I love the border as well. The grass, the graceful arc of his neck, the range of tones, the clarity, all nice! As I said, not a big fan of horses, but congratulations on the high placing on the Bucko photo! Well deserved! :)
