Greetings....

As I was reading the notes on this site about extracting EXIF data from a JPG image, I realized that there is a FREEWARE program out there that does a very nice job of this. It's called Irfanview and may be obtained from //www.irfanview.com. The program does not have this capability by default, but there is a plugin from the same site that you may download to extract this data.

Irfanview is a nice application... I use it for batch resampling and it does a great job....

Hello,

Anyone out there know if any exif extraction software exists that will run on a Mac. Irfanview does not, nor do the three referenced on the rules page. Appreciate any help. Thanks :)

If you have Photoshop Elements, you can get EXIF info from File > File Info by selecting "EXIF" in the "Section" drop down. There are a few shareware products like iView MediaPro and Graphic Converter that also give EXIF info. I'm not aware of any freeware products that do it, but maybe someone else knows of one.

Thanks Amphibian. Graphic Converter gave me just what I needed. :)

Isnt there a photoshop or paintshop plugin to read this info? It works in Irfan View and a couple other apps, I find it hard to think that the main 2 apps for the PC dont support EXIF.

Photoshop 7 will have EXIF information available in its File Browser. Paint Shop Pro doesn't support EXIF information. I don't know of any plugin, but I haven't done a search.
