Thanks everyone for the comments! I'm in the process of returning them all. Keep 'em coming and I will too! ;-)
And yeah Cher, I'm still having a blast! LOL (I'm still laughing about the comment you left me - "So that's what the back side of my mountains look like!")
I'll also add more detail about how I did the Rainbow Falls.
Thanks guys & gals!

You can comment on some of my new stuff (in new stuff, and wandering folders in my portfolio) if ya like.
Thanks. P :D |

the deer shot is nice, i love the lighting, although it seems to be a *tiny* bit off focus.. camera shake? butterfly photos are never my faves but those look very nice. couldnt click on the water scene because it takes me back to the image of the deer, so cant fairly comment on that.
rainbow falls is great, i really like how you took a well-used theme (waterfall, long exposure ect) and did something different with it. you should put it up for a print if you havent already.
\
feel free to pick a couple of things out of my portfolio to pull apart, lol
edit: i was clicking on the white space above the lake/ocean thinking it was sky.. and no, it wasnt. so i looked at the photo closer.. not bad. it seems to be lacking a bit of punch or something and i'm not crazy about the crop.

Thanks again all! Good comments - many that I plan to implement (hopefully) this afternoon/tonight. I was caught up on return comments before I left for lunch, but see now that I've got some more catching up to do. (I really enjoy this trading comments thing!)
Keep 'em coming if you are so inclined. I will return each and every favor. :-)

Hi Jimmy
Thanks so much for your comments. I see what you mean about the borders, I started doing them like this when I wanted to upgrade my website and wanted everything looking the same, hmmm , maybe it is time for a change again. I usually use just a black background on all my shots but decided to use a size of 6x4 at 72dpi with this border around that. I have another freebie website at //groups.msn.com/equineprophoto where I didnt use the borders but that is seriously outdated too and the shots are mostly 6x4 72dpi there too.
Thanks again.

Lori: You might want to consider (although I know it can be a maintenance/tracking challenge) having separate versions of your shots for each individual purpose (i.e., your own Web site, DPChallenge, DPCPrints, etc.). Glad you "got" what I meant, 'cuz you really have some great stuff. :-)

Yeah you are right. I kinda get into a rut but need to spend a bit of time on this stuff. Winter is always a good time, at least this year it will I hope in the past I have had 16 horses to maintain single handed but this year will only have 8!!! Yaaay. So hopefully I will find more time to devote to my cataloguing and websites etc. I have posted another of the spider, does this look better? Thanks for your comments they are appreciated, I dont get out often and most of my stuff is shot around my home.

YES! IMHO, the spider is MUCH better - I was able to distinguish aspects of the shot I had previously overlooked (or was unable to see). And as far as not getting out much or far beyond the borders of your intimate realm... All of the shots I have posted here (and for that matter have for sale locally) are taken within Botetourt County or the immediately surrounding counties - with the singular exception of my trip to DC for the NotaCon DPC GTG, and they're not for sale in the co-op gallery where I am a member. :-) Great job and thanks again for the great comments. Hopefully, mine were helpful as well...

Thanks again to everyone who has commented! I believe I have caught up on my "obligations" for returning comments. Please feel free to leave more/some (whichever the case may be). I will return every one at least 1-4-1 (in many cases, more than that). I have received some very valuable opinions that I plan to implement (as best I can), so please don't hesitate to make your voice be heard. :-)
Thanks again!

Just got back from dinner at Grandma's. Had meatloaf, turnip greens, and homemade cornbread. Can't beat that kinda meal anywhere in the world (unless it of course includes October beans)! LOL
Any more takers on the comment trade? I'm game if you are! (Not to be confused with gamey - I've had a shower in the past 48 hours, have you?)
=D
EDIT: Okay, 72 hours, but who's counting?!?! ROFLMAO

I've caught back up again. Any more takers? I really love trading comments, so don't be shy! ;-)
(I must admit I get a little apprehensive when a member of SC comments though - not sure I'm worthy of returning commentary. But what the ****, my opinion oughta count for something, right? Yours does too!)
