Asij sent me the original on his "Cross and Prayer" shot so I could play with it. I left it uncropped and in its original, sepia-like coloration, but played around with increasing contrast and sharpness without getting the haloing. Turned out to be pretty straightforward; levels and then USM on the luminance channel. I also neat-imaged the noise out of it. It was pretty nice even with the noise (in the original it's "good noise", a nice grainy effect) but I wanted to try it smoother.
