I had the honor of documenting a mock emergency in my home town over the weekend. There was an accident involving a truck with chemicals on board, where it had run into a pub and also another car...the chemicals were scattered across the road, there were a few casualities and one deceased ....
the emergency crew involved were the police, fire brigade, ambulance, st john's ambulance, hazmat and all the 'officals'.. you'll see by the photos there was a lot of 'fun' with one of the victim's , she had to play the role of an 'autisic' ( will get the right spelling ) person so that the police could handle the situation, and know what to do if this happens in real life.

thanks JPR... it was certianly a 'rush' as in 'drug'.... i could handle doing that more often... i couldn't imagine what the 'real' thing must be like...

thats the inexpensive one...right?
its funny, i have that lens and havent used it in ages...it really looks decent.
i guess if you have enough light it's not a bad lens.

i actually use it a lot.. and yer it was only about $200 ( aus ) off ebay, and was in perfect condition....i love it and so far cannot fault it... i would love a convertor though just to get that little bit closer....
and yer the light always helps no matter what lens you use.... i was just lucky on sunday that it was just a beautiful day....

i like this shot, think it's pretty good. I do however wonder a bit what is to the left of the frame? It looks like emergency personel, if it was perhaps including them in the photo would give more interest, and a more appealing composition. That said though it's better than a lot of the photos I run every week.

thanks petrakka.... this is only one of about 30 wash down shots... what your looking for is definately in one of the others... the reason i cropped this one was because i only got half of the woman in red ( she had no uniform ) so i cropped her out... i wanted people to concentrate more on the guy in this shot....
thanks again....
