Last night I went out and shot for D&L challenge. Coming home I started looking at my photos and everything was disappointing. I found one that kinda worked. After 10 min of editing I gave up. Low contrast, ugly colors, so so composition, you name it. Finally I did my best with that picture and was still very disappointed. I decided not to enter but just in case show it my girlfriend. The response I got was...
Wow... this is beautiful.... it's great... you should definitely submit this...
I thought maybe I'm not seeing something, being that it is later and I̢۪m tired. I submitted my picture against my better judgment.
Now I'm enjoying my 3s and I'm pissed off at my girlfriend.

What does it say in your siggy line again? :-D
Your girlfriend probably does think it's a beautiful photo. If the people you love enjoy your photography don't be pissy with her over it. You'll be sorry in the long run and nobody IRL will be willing to give you any commentary.
You have to live with your girlfriend (figuratively), us blokes you can put on permaignore if you wish. |

I guess you could pull it if you feel that strongly about it. However I understand about going against your better judgement. I entered into the bird challenge with a last minute photo that I knew wasn't going to be recieved well. It's part of the process, we have all done it.
It'll be alright. :) |

Don't be too pissed at your girlfriend, soemtimes our significant others will tell us what they think we want to hear rather than give us the straight truth and get in an argument/debate over it.
Or, not to underestimate your girlfriends talents, but maybe she's not as technically savvy in photography/post editing as a lot of the talented photographers are here who are judging the photo. To an "untrained eye", some photos can be beautiful, but a lot of photographers are perfectionists by nature and will find faults where others don't. I hope this makes sense and not sound negative towards your g/f. Best of luck! |

my wife refuses to comment on my images before I submit them. More than once I have shown her different images and submitted what she liked over what I preferred and everytime they bombed...well most of mine do anyway but you get the point. I've never been mad at her for it cause it is ultimately my decision to post or not.

I just broke into 4s. yeahh.....
I may have been a bit harsh in words before. When I said I'm pissed at my girl, I meant it in a nice, gently and caring way. It was just a momentary feeling I got when I checked my scores in the morning.
No she does not make me write this.
