Hi All,

you may have seen me post a couple of time already as I have been hanging around for about a week now, so I thought I'd better say hi!

My name is AL and I'm based in the UK - Swansea in South Wales to be exact! I have recently decided that I would like to delve deeper into photography since I have really enjoyed playing with my little Fuji s5000z, especially since my son, Charlie was born about 6 months ago - I can't stop taking pictures!

This seems like a real friendly place and I hope to stick around for some time!

I really wanted to enter the milk challenge, though inspiration was seriously lacking! "Shoes" however, should see my initiation in to challenge entry!

I'll try and get a pic of myself add to my profile, though you may find one or two lurking at my current website //freespace.virgin.net/al.macklen which is currently all about my little VW Golf (or Rabbit if you're in the USofA!) Gti.

Welcome! Hope you enjoy this site and get as much out of it as I do. I think it's pretty doggone great. Sure, there are some curmudgeons and it sucks when your challenge entries bomb, BUT there's generally something to learn from all of it! Keep a positive attitude and good luck! I look forward to seeing your work.

yup, as they said, welcome to DPC. I was lucky enough to live in Swansea for 4 years whilst doing my degrees at Swansea uni. Very happy times indeed.

Lots of photogenic landscapes on the gower and plenty of scope for street photography in the city.

I wouldn't really say I was lucky living in Swansea, though it is not a bad place as we have everything from mountians (Brecon) to beaches (Gower) just a short drive away!

I am a snow lover though, and we don't get anywhere near enough snow here in the UK.

I have been to Stowe, Vermont in New England during the winter season and loved it there... (Pats for the superbowl again!)

Id suggest posting thumbnails (imagshack is great for it), or geting a membership and use the site's thumbnail thing!
There are some dial-up users who might not be found of large pics on the forums!

And again, I'd looooooooove to get a ride at you GTi. too bad i'm a few thousand of miles away LoL!

BTW, most of the newest american GTis are built, something like 30 mins away from my house, in Curitiba. And we don't get to have them here!
Cool isn't it (not sure about the MK V now)
