That's worked well for Joey Lawrence and Heida. ;-)

Mine is going down like a lead ballon... Starting wish I hadn't entered this shot now. Oh well such life :-)

I just wanted to chime in that I hate Monday voters.
Seriously.. has there ever been a Monday when people didn't complain that scores dropped like a rock? (with a couple exceptions to individual people)?

Stop being so grumpy.. seriously.. tomorrow, go back through your voting and say.. "man, what was I thinking?"

Well mine is holding steady but I'm not doing this again. Not even if the voice in my head say to. Nope not gonna do it. Well, I'll think about it. Maybe just one more time. Ok ok....geez this voice won't shut up....LOL!!

Shoulda gone with my gut... I had entered another shot and pulled it at the last minute in favor of the one that's not fairing so well. I would post an outtake, but it would give away my current entry. Maybe after the challenge.

I must be dizzy from all the nude shots...I usually type 'busted post' so I will go back and change it now.

Hello all,

I'm at 4.62 with 170 votes.

I just got my first camera about 3 months ago (the same day I joined this site).

I hope to get a 5.0 or better, but who knows. The main thing is that I had so much fun. My wife agreed to pose (her first time nude). I think my main my problem was when choosing the shot to enter I was too emotionally involved. When I saw the final product with my wife in all her glory, I think I lost my objectiness (if that is a word). I don't see any flaws in her, so I didn't notice them in the photo.

I want to frame her photo and put it on my desk at work, but she won't let me ;(

The bottom line is this:
We had a blast, it was erotic in a way, I have to oportunity to show the world how beautiful my wife is, and I got to play with my camera!

How much better could it get???? :)

You don't want to go down that retro trail. Buy a Spyder and be done with it.

What's frustrating me is that I put more thought and effort into this picture and, so far, my score is lower than my crappy circles challenge.

Well, I'll publicly apologize for my Nude III entry and bringing down people's average score given. I don't know WHAT I was thinking, but I obviously had a brief period of insanity. All I can say now is please forgive me for my lack of lucidity and move past my previous transgressions when voting on future challenges...

Also, I've got almost as many votes as I did in the entire Time Capsule challenge.

Does this mean the voting is going to slow down?

What in the world did you do????

And there have been almost 400 views and not even half voting...why not let everyone vote?

It's a member challenge, and as thus.. only members can vote. That's the perk of paying that $25 a year (or monthly, if you're doing that). If people want to vote, they have to pony up :)

mine is doing horrible!!! one good thing about it though, It came out just like I wanted it to and out of all the comments so far one person actually thought the same thing I was thinking about it... :)
08/22/2005 05:04:43 PM · #98
I got really good comment, some say it is a 10, and my score is at 5.8... i cannot understand how people vote ! and check the result after, sometime it does not make sense... anyway, i am really happy of all the 12 keeper i got from this shooting and will continue to make photo, but will think again about using this site as a challenge !
08/22/2005 05:53:14 PM · #99
Well, so far Im happy with my score. Dont expect a ribbon, but thats not why i enter challenges. The challenge for me is to see if I can get comments from people mentioning the particular photographic goal(s) I set for a particular challenge.

I have to say there are some very wonderful, classic nude shots in here. These will always do better than some of the wonderful artistic nude shots which are also present in this challenge.
To be honest, there are also much more amateur looking shots in here. More than normal for the challenges I have entered. I think it could be because shooting nudes is not an easy task.

One thing which is 100% sure at this site and I assume others is:
Straying too far from the mainstream will not get you a high score.
To counter that though, DPC is one of those cool sites where if a high score isnt what you are after, and want to see if someone catches your idea, people will give you an honest opinion if you ask. Sometimes you are lucky and they comment without asking ;)

Proof of this is in my portfolio. My scores have done nothing but increase in the short time Im participating.

1)This is because I have made an effort to take negative and positive comments in stride.

2) Ive made some very nice DPC pals who give me honest critisim and suggestions

3) I study the countless portfolios, reading all the comments, learning what works and doesnt work

4) The challenges force you to learn so many different aspects of photography.

So in closing all I can say is if you arent happy with this challenge, take your comments, go read other portfolios and comments, digest this info, drink a whiskey and begin clicking again!
