In the last 2 challenges I have entered....which are the only 2 so far, there was a couple of comments that my pics were "too small to comment on". I'm a novice at all this and have a lot of learning to do. But the comment was on the size of the photo? Could someone please shed some light on me so that I can make my photos come out bigger??

When you resize your photos (using whatever program you use) make the longest side of the photo 640 pixels, or 6.4 inches. |

It took me a few tries to get this right as well - don't sweat it! Depending on the particular processing program you use, it may differ on what parameters you have available to alter - in order to reach the maximum size allowable by the site and still adhere to its rules. It's difficult to explain in detail (I think - when you're first starting out), unless you have a concrete example by which to base your judgments. Therefore, in the next challenge you want to enter, please feel free to contact me directly via PM (and I will get back to you ASAP), and I would be happy to lead you through the process. It's just an offer - take it or leave it as you choose. I just know that when I first tried it (even after several times and a couple of challenges, I still didn't really get it).

Hey Gayle - just wanted to say that you are off to a good start with your photography! I think a lot of people want bigger photos so they can clearly see the details of what they are voting on. It only makes sense. :-) What program do you use to crop, fix, etc. your photos? |
