Looking for my muse. Has anyone seen her? She left out sometime in June and has yet to return.

I don't know. I've never actually seen her. But she always seems to be there when I create something really great. I know she's there, I can feel her presence. She feels like goose bumps and chills on my spine.

As Tom Waits put it: "God's away on business".

Don't look. Muse will find you.

She's probably vacationing along with my muse in Alaska or Iceland or somewhere that it's NOT 102 degrees F with 60% humidity... ;)

We can only hope that they return when the leaves start to change. :)

Mine's out in back of the house, building a barn.

She'll be back sooner or later. Please keep shooting.

she's just a shout away, just a shout away
a kiss away, a kiss away
a click away, a click away

My muse left around the same time. Maybe they went on strike?

I find that when I've lost my muse, it's because I've become too focused on myself. If I begin to give that up, take a drive through town with Sigur Ros or Mogwai in my stereo and allow myself to fall in love with beautiful strangers (the children playing tag on the sidewalk and the old man raking his lawn) my muse is just around the next corner.

I know.

I know how to call my muse and she has always come when I called, but she is a jealous muse and exacts a heavy price for her services. She wants most of my time and has little tolerence for my friends and family. Time with them is very important to me. She has let me know time and time again that that is not her concern. And so I try to balance the time I have left on this earth between what I think is right and what may be a very important endeavor that may somehow alter the course of humanity for the better in some small way - or in the end may all come down to vanity.
