I just bought the konica minolta magicolor 2450,
I was wondering if anyone had any feedback about this printer.

Will someone check out the site and let me know what they think?

I used to know all about these things. They would still be expensive to run; you need to analyse all the ink costs, drum life and replacement costs, transfer belt life and repelacement costs etc etc. Also the colour would not compare to an inkjet, but for many things a colour laser is better. But check each units real operational costs including the life of the components.

Thanks, I did do that, this printer is definitely worth it. To print the same number of pages it costs $20 less then inkjet. In fact, Minolta sells the printer with a full set of high capacity toner cartridges ($440) which means this $600 printer was really $160. The black is blacker the text is sharper. The photos are hard to tell they came from a laser printer. I actually printed off a 5x5 inch fireworks picture and placed it into a going away good luck card. When I asked people to sign the card they thought the picture was part of the card. Needless to say I am very happy with this printer.

I have the 2430DL printer, bought it about 2 months ago. I love it. I haven't had to replace toner yet and when I do it'll be pricey but as severin said, it comes with full capacity toner cartridges. I have read only great things about the 2430 and am quite pleased with it.

Granted, it's not for printing up photos, I haven't had perfect luck with that but it's great for a fledgling biz and so easy to print up proofs & use for printing brochures and letters. So crisp and professional looking. It's $449 that I'll never regret spending.

I did a lot of reseach on color lasers earlier this year, and got overwhelmed and did nothing. Well, I got more camera gear and signed up with winkflash.com...

What got me depressed is that is seems most of the lasers out there count the pages printed, and when you hit X, the unit forces you to replace the toner cartrdige, empty or not. SO if it can print 3000 pages, and yo uprint 3000 all blue, you'll still need to buy red and yellow cartridges. If i am wrong on this PLEASE tell me so!

My old (10+ years now) HP 4p does 3000 or so black pages on one $60 cartridge. I am on cartridge 3 or 4 in that 10(or 11) years. Dirt cheap, as reliable as a rock, but only b&w...

I think it was one that brother made that interested me most, but many of the consumables were often on backorder. and one thing you HAD to replace was a 'used toner' catch jar of some kind. seemed silly to me.
