I will have the opportunity to use my neice (age 12) and nephew (age 15) for a number of early evening photo shoots to help out with some stock photography. Mom is granting me formalized minor releases and I plan to submit these images to at least one stock site.

Most images will be taken outside under natural light with fill flash available.

What should I pose them for given that I have potentially unlimited opportunity and two incredibly photogenic kids at my disposal.

Hug a dog? Definately get a computer into the picture, preferably a laptop. school books would be good. sports of any kind, get a soccer ball? Something medical, get out some bandaids? Acrobatics, leaping in the air. Happy faces, sad faces.

Wow, I've dreamed of being in a situation with willing models for a while now so ill live vicariously through you and give you some of my ideas.

-Homework/Education things
-Hand in cookie jar sort of things
---Seeing as your subjects are middle school/high school aged you might be able to play these cards as well
-Cell phones
-If your nephew looks old enough some "new driver" pics might be good ie handing over the keys.
-Yardwork (You can tell them it is for stock photo purposes)

Where are you planning on submitting your images?

I got some ideas from searching stock sites. For me I tried to produce something similar but not the same as what was already there.

Well, the photo shoot fell through as they had to leave the area earlier than anticipated, but I will get my opportunity with FOUR of them when I go to visit up North in a month or so. (They will also have a lot mroe changes of clothing available.)

Thanx for the ideas. I love em all and plan to actually write out the scenes I want to make sure I shoot. Set up an agenda that will time out costume and locale changes and get releases for the additional children (17yrs and 7 years).

Should be fun and a great opportunity to stretch my imagination and 'directing' skill by posing them!

Paul: I am already a member at Shutterstock, but am hoping to actually use this opportunity to do an Alamy submission and see what happens there. Why not shoot for the moon, eh?

Cool...then the kids can get their photos plastered on the side of public transportation buses and for billion-dollar industries, and you can make $.20 cents off the photo. Good thinking.

Seriously though, if you intend to submit them to alamy, don't submit them to shutterstock at all.
