Heya all--
Yup, I'm begging for comments again--I'll try to return the favor...
Just wondering what yall think of these recent shots of mine:
Silver Falls
I think the crop's a tad close on this one (the print looks better *hint hint* lol)
Silver Falls again
My lil sis
I've been doing a ton of b&w stuff lately, in case you couldn't tell. :)
Thoughts, anyone? Thanks tons!

Nice work! A little more exposure wouldn't hurt IMHO. |

Thank you for the comments! Very helpful. :)
Wasn't sure what I thought of all my dark b&w shots, hehe.
Realized after I took all the waterfall shots that my camera was set to underexpose by a whole stop. :P

Nice shots Cristin! The bridge is my favorite. It has a mysterious quality that I really like. Good work.

Thanks so much everyone--I will get around to giving you all comments as soon as possible (an hour or so maybe). Just so you don't think I am a complete flake! :)

Left 2 comments for ya. I don't know if this idea would be helpful to you or anyone else, but one way I use to decide whether to keep the shot in color or to convert to B/W is if the color itself in the shot doesn't *add* anything, then I usually turn it into B/W. Sometimes giving a healthy saturation boost makes the color an important component of the shot again, but then B/W can be really dramatic too.
Your SKID shots in your portfolio are seriously powerful. I felt tears start rushing to my eyes on a few of the "witness" shots (which my mind was interpreting as the friends/family of the deceased). I hope that program continues delivering it's important message.

Thank you...The SKID demonstration was very powerful, very moving for everyone involved...My dad was supposed to be speaking at the end (he's on the fire dept. here, that's how I got to be one of the "photographers" there) and he could hardly do it because it was so terribly real to him (and I'm sure that goes for all the parents there).
And yes, the "witnesses" were supposed to be friends of the girl who "died."
And on a lighter note--thanks for the color tips! :) I will have to mess around with my originals for these shots some more. I just discovered the saturation enhancement tool in PSP 7 (hehe I am soo far behind all of the PS gurus here!) and so maybe not all of my stuff will be b&w in the future, hehe.
