After looking at all of the submissions, I am not surprised. This doesn't seem to be DPC quality. More of a snapshot competition. I went out on a limb with mine, and so far it is not being received all that well. Oh well. :(

Oh yeah... these votes are gonna be ugly... Probably 90% or more are going to contain someone's family member(s)... including my own submission...not a big shock, considering the title ;-)
Finicky voters will therefore get pissy and vote down for everything they see that's not "out of the box" enough for them.

Mine's out of the box and I've never got scores as bad as this - I may pull it. |

....and no remarks about how a 4.8 isn't that bad - it's not very good either. Plus - it has already dropped from 5.222 to this and there are several days of this torture to go. Guess I should have shot a family instead of going out of the box.

I just finished voting and I think part of the problem is too many people thought outside the box in the same manner (shoes, ducks, graveyards, etc.) While some were better than others, there seemed to be a lot of similar submissions in this challenge and not the variety of past challenges.

There's some nice stuff in this challenge, hanving only looked at the thumbnails and voted on a couple.

Can't be done, unless you have broken the editing rules and someone calls you on it. Other than that you are stuck with the photo and the score, I know that didn't help but that's all I can offer.

| Amber. Contact a sc member and let them know you are requesting to withdraw your picture. Or check the "validate" button on your entry. I don't know if that will work, but you can always try it and see what happens. You know it will still be on the viewing pages after the challenge? Might as well tough it out with the voters. The first night is always hard to watch. Maybe sleep on it before you request withdrawing it. |
