Hello, i noticed the next challenge is something in motion. the problem is my camera (yes my camera =0) takes 3 seconds to take a picture, is there a way to change it so its instant? thanks

When I shoot with my digital Elph I encounter a more pronounced problem with the lag time as well. For these stop motion shots you will need to do two things with a camera that is mostly automatic. If the action you want to stop is particularily fast than you need as much available light as possible so the camera will choose a faster shutter speed for you. Indoors, even using the flash can be tough, if not impossibe in a real fast situation. The other thing to do, which is a good idea with any camera is to depress the shutter release only halfway prior to the magic moment to allow the camera to preset the aperture and shutter settings, then continue to press the shutter release the rest of the way down a fraction of a moment before the action occurs. It will take some practice but it is very possible to get some good stop motion shots with a point and shoot camera. I hope this helps and good luck in the contest.

Good advice above. Regarding shutter lag, all you can really do is practice anticipating the shot, and half press to lock focus and exposure in advance. You may want to try flash in a dark room, as the shutter speed is irrelevant and the duration of the flash should be somewhere between 1/200" and 1/2000".

When you're practicing, I recommend using the flash so you can have a visual indication of exactly how long it takes to get the shot, and that way you can get your rhythm down.
