There was a certain thread I started Please DPC....Do something!, and all that I wanted to discuss was some ideas that maybe other users had about the number of entries in the challenges. There were so many great comments and suggestions, and then there were some members who thought that name calling was the best way to respond to the thread.

I was called many names for just wanting to know what others thought about the situation. I am NOT lazy, I just want to vote on all of the entries without getting bored with it. When there are that many, as a voter I start to lose interest after 200-300 and so many entries start to look alike.

I wasn't whinning either. The forums are here so we can share thoughts and ideas. That is what I was doing. In a way, I guess I was complaining, but really just hoping to help find a solution. Soon and very soon, the way this website is growing, there will be 700 entries in the challenges. This website is growing by leaps and bounds.

The main reason I made this thread was to thank (more than I can count) all of the great DPC members who emailed me to overlook the name callers and still be a part of DPC. I was very surprised by all the nice emails and uplifting words of encouragement. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! That was so sweet. So to anyone else who posts in a thread and are called names, just report them to the site counsel. I am sure that if this happens enough something will be done about it.

To the name callers and all "negative attitudes": If you think that what you post doesn't mean anything and they are just words--your wrong. There is no reason why we "AS ADULTS" cannot have intelligent conversations without resulting in insulting other people. It is not necessary. I graduated High School a long time ago and I thought that those days were over. There ARE other ways to get YOUR OPINION (if you addressed it maturely) across without acting the way you did.

Well said....people you mentioned that make ugly remarks......I know what you mean. One particular lady has a hard time saying anything nice....I'm glad I only have to listen to her on DP....could you imagine in real life? Her poor family! :)

lol. Any who ... we need 4 challenges per week and you can enter only two!!!

Like someone said...when traffic became thicker, they built more roads, and widened the roads they already had.

On a related note...

The words people speak only make up about 20% of normal, every-day communication. The other 80% of communication is comprised of body language and voice tone.

When we 'communicate' on the internet, we lose 80% of our communicating skills -- and that's the reason a lot of people are so quick to start calling names. It's a hard thing to do. And this is NOT the only forum where it's like that -- that's just how the internet is.

dude...don't tell me what a thread is for. I'll say what I want ;)

A thought would be.. Make challenges up to 250 people, and when that challenge is full.. open another room of up to 250 people for the same challenge. For instance, when the pogo game rooms get full, they add another room. The most that would happen is.. There would be more winners!!

Gives each of us more chances to carry ribbons and be seen!!

:)

This is a problem that has to resolved. I am what they call overwhelmed by the current counts and will step back a while with entries until something is done.

To do nothing is to watch the count grow higher. There are solutions but since there are many ideas and then the concesus. It is like a corporation where the movement is like molasses.

In that case you could also just limit yourself to members challenges.

D&L have said that the features that were available on the site before paid memberships were created would stay free, I believe.
