My mum's already in Mother's Day in NZ, but here it's still Saturday so she has to wait a few hours before I congratulate her :-)

I heard somewhere that mother's day is celebrated on Saturday in Mexico. Don't know if it is true or not.

The quote is great, adn it is oh so true. I can count on one hand the times I have taken a shower in total privacy during the past 16 months, I think.

but, you know what, I wouldn't trade it for anything. It's a "freedom" that I am more than willing to give up!!

It's funny Karmat. I haven't sat and watched a whole movie in the past 14 years. And I wouldn't change a thing either. Being a mom is the most wonderful blessing God has ever given me.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms on DPC!

You know, I thought Mother's Day was invented by Hallmark to get people to buy their cards?

I think Mother's Day was invented by a child who couldn't think of any other way to say thank you then to give the whole day to their mommy! Hallmark just copied the child.

I just moved to canada... my mother lives in Melbourne, Australia....so I go onto a radio station on oz and had them wish her a happy mother's day and made sure she was listening.... scored enough brownie points to get me through the next 12 months!

If God wanted sex to be fun,
He wouldn't have included
children as a punishment.

We spend the first twelve months
of our children's lives teaching
them to walk and talk and the
next twelve telling them to
sit down and shut up.

It's a widely accepted fact that
if your parents didn't have any
children, you won't either.

You can't make a baby in a month
by getting nine women pregnant.

It take one woman nine months to
have a baby, no matter how many men
you put on the job.

Children in the front seat cause
accidents, accidents in the back
seat cause children.

Hope that puts a smile in your faces, mom's of DPC.

The actual history of Mother's Day (or as close as the web can get to "actual") can be found Here.

When my mother was alive she forbade the celebration on the "official" Mother's Day... She would say "Take me to dinner on your birthday. That's when I did the work!"
