If u're from oustside the US, especially from Brazil, I wouldn't recommend! Don't take me wrong on this, the store is just perfect, reasonable prices and all. It's just that almost everybody from Brazil, that order from B&H suffer from their shippment delay to here!
Some ppl are waiting for over 120 days |

B&H is it for me. We've tried ButterflyPhoto a few times, and although they have good prices on their cameras, accessories are way overpriced. They take days to process your order, etc. I've purchased all my lenses from B&H and my 20D. I go to their web site anytime I have a question about an accessory or lens and I can't say that I'll purchase anywhere else. They were on one of their holiday shut downs when I wanted to purchase the 20D, so I waited and they were out of stock on the battery grip, so I waited. I can't say enough wonderful things about them.
Not to mention, for 2003 Christmas my mom bought me the 420EX flash. UPS dropped it at a house down the street since she wasn't home. Once she found that out from UPS, she tried getting these people for days and they wouldn't answer their door. So, she called B&H and they shipped another one out immediately with no questions asked.
Also, they have the best shipping I've seen based on price and the standard for them is 3 day select. |

B&H is great to the UK - quicker than some local mail order co's.

Same here. I have placed two big orders with them and they rock! Good service, superb packaging and quality product. Just make sure you buy stuff that has "USA" and not "Imported" for the warranty. USA warranties are accepted in Canada. Imported warrantied items have to be sent back to B&H for repair, which could potentially be a pain in the a$$.

This can't go on. Nobody has whinned yet. Let me be the first. I just hate getting those splendid catalogs in the mail. Makes me want to spend more money than I have. And they had the nerve to send me a 35mm catalog last week. They know I shoot digital! Pretty inconsiderate if you ask me. ;) |

Now how did Henry know we were talkin' about him, LOL?
I've dealt with B&H for some major purchases, and have always been quite satisfied. Great prices, reasonable shipping costs (shipping is not run as a high-profit service) accurate stock info, well-designed site with accurate, complete product information.
The only small dig I can give is for the recent requirement for verification for large orders. They do not do this to upsell, just for security, and I do understand the need to protect against scammers & theives, but IMO there is probably a better way that will not result in a delayed order.
This is a small issue, however. If you are ordering large-value items, be aware they may require phone verification.

Wow,
Henry from B&H is listening. I also thought he'd have a Nikon D2X or a Canon EOS-1Ds or something along those lines.
B&H in my opinion offers the most comprehensive listing of products, website that is easiest to use. I've bought a few products from them. They were one of the first to get the Tokina 12-24mm lens, which I bought from them.
I've bought more products from Beachcamera b/c of it's better price and faster shipping. I generally know what product I want, so I don't call to ask any questions, I just order via the internet. So customer service in this regard is not an issue for me. If you need help with purchasing decision, then it may matter for you.

Yep, two thumbs up from me. Great search engine, good database of what they have in stock, and good emails after purchase. |

I shop from B&H almost every month, I've spent over $10.000 in the past year at B&H and their service is outstanding, the only times I shop at another online store is when the wanted item is out of stock at B&H, but that rarely happens :)
highly reccomended, and all purchases shipped to Iceland without problems :)

I buy from B&H as well. I have nothing but praise for them. I have also bought from Adorama and Calumet, both good. Calumet is not very competitive sometimes on price, but since they are just across the lake in Chicago and if I order in the morning, I can usually get my order the next afternoon via UPS Ground.

I've also bought from B&H as well, most recently a Canon 50mm 1.8 Mk. II cheapie which I received earlier this week. Always good prices and no hassle from B&H.
One thing I read on another forum today though and checked on their site. B&H is showing the BG-E1 300D grip as discontinued. Is that true or a mistake?

You really don't need my vote on B&H but I'll chime in anyhow. I've bought from this company for many years without problem. From time to time I do order from Calumet, as they have a San Francisco store and it's quick. But it's B&H for first choice. |

Another two thumbs up, and I'm on the other side of the planet.. (New Zealand, sorta the other side)
I got some flash brackets from them a wee while ago as there was no NZ importer for what I wanted.. The delivery was on time (Airmail express from memory) and the service was great..
Now they've sent me a catalogue I've got an urge to by something else, although I dunno what.. I might order a lens cap so they'll send me another catalogue next year! :-).
Cheers, Chris H.

I had to return a tele extender there once. B&H was very good about it, and gave me no trouble at all. |

From my experience I have always been charged duty + vat (20.5%) on items delivered via UPS.

Be prepared to get a catalog from them in the mail. I got one last week, I was surprised, that sucker is the size of a phone book.
