I only recently got around to processing some of the images from our long trip to Africa last year and, having sent them off to Alamy, have done some quick and dirty resizing, clumsy copyrighting and frustrating creation of webpages using Photoshop's automation feature plus a lot of fiddly work afterwards. I am not too worried about the interface as it's mainly to share them with fellow Safariphiles over on a travel forum.

These don't give a definitive picture of everything we saw and did as I only processed the ones that I thought were strongest for stock but I hope you'll enjoy them.

I can't believe that 40 people opened this thread and not one person had anything, good or bad, to say about the images.

:o(

Thanks Rex, I appreciate your looking.
I think there's certainly a touch of exhibitionism in those of of us who share our work here so it's always disappointing to share work and get no response whatsoever.
Just knowing someone has looked, really looked, is strangely satisfying, especially when it's a friend.
Thanks!

Kavey, you make me home-sick!!!

It looks like you had a really good trip. Cape Town is my second home (Johannesburg born, living in London now).

Thanks Di, that's generous thing to say.

Wobbly, we loved Cape Town... didn't bother with Jo'burg other than a night in a hotel by the airport before flying on to Maun... but Cape Town rocks!

Allan, you're biased! ;oP

Laurie, I adore eles, I just can't resist them. Elephant Diaries (presented by Jonathan Scott and Michaela Strachan) airs next week every week night at 7 on the BBC. I can't WAIT!

Pedro, sadly no cream or I'd have bought out the entire supply. I cannot TELL you how strongly my feet are itching to get back to Africa (and Antarctica too) let alone new places on my wishlist!

Sher, thanks, they are just wonderful animals to watch in the wild. I hope you'll make it there too. Drop me a line or ping me in chat if you want to talk about the options, unless you're already booked/ decided.

Thanks folks!

I envy you that trip K, and love the elephants (with baby) - adorable. And the Table Mountain shots - a real sense of depth. That's a cute little web site too - could just do with a little sub-menu or two to aid finding the shots.

Yeah, if I'd put it together for anything other than being to show photos just to friends on DPC and on an Africa travel chat board I'd have done it very differently but... I just used one of PS's web gallery automated features. Even then I would have used one of the newer designs but they aren't compatible with my old Dreamweaver 4 and I still like to be able to do minor edits so... I stuck with a really basic design... it creates the thumbs and all links and so on so it's easiest way. The copyright notices are clumsy too but, again, only for the lowres webshare versions and done quickly using a couple of actions...

I wish! There are SOOO many utterly incredible wildlife photographers out there, their work blows mine so far out of the water it's practically on the moon. Honestly, I'm not kidding. I see it and just want to cry coz it's so beautiful.

Travel is what inspires my photography and wildlife travel most of all. I think it's important for people to explore what excites them most as I do think that's how they'll produce their best work. The excitement they have for the subject carries through...
