some of my personal favorites:
favorite 1

it bleeds nostalgia. and the inability to identify the people makes the images to mean anything we want.

In that second pic, what do you bet the two people in white are secretly discussing and giggling about those crazy american cankles?

And I thought I was the only weirdo who collected old photos of people from eras gone by...I think saintaugust hit the nail right on the head...it's nice to make up our own stories about these "throw away" images.

I think it's quite obvious that this photo ( //www.houseplantpicturestudio.com/HPS/liquorwebfotos/liqstrefam014.jpg ) was taken the day after Joanie stopped loving Chachi. His face says it all.

I'm at work and saw this and I'm rolling!!! I can't believe you picked the pictured I liked too...the one with the horse! ROFL! I don't know why I find this funny...but it just struck my funny bone! (co-workers are looking at me!) LOL.

Where you can buy the merchandise...too bad they don't let you pick out your own photo....I would probably get that book bag! LOL (gotta quit looking at it....start giggling every time!!)

I can't believe some folks would make fun of a family that obviously suffers from alcohol abuse, substance and sexual addictions...

we're laughing with them. Also, owning a liquor store doesn't always mean you are suffering from alcohol abuse... okay, well, maybe it does.

I had the same reaction while I was scrolling through the shots. Had he been looking at the camera, the protrait would have been much weaker.

These photos are freakin fantastic. They seem pretty well off (very stylish in all the shots!...for the era anyway) but someone out there's gotta know these people! Judging by their ages, the young red head who looks like she was dragged along on all the vacations is probably the only one still alive.

These really are great photos of an era gone by. I can't help but be reminded of "Hairspray". (Sorry, I couldn't help myself!)

They're great! And I DON'T think they are in any way implying alcohol abuse or other untoward actions...

The whole website is great. Start from the beginning of the site (www.houseplantpicturestudio.com)...a lot of these photos show that this guy is constantly looking around at the world around him.

I know a lot of the photos are found, but this site is full of great 'finds' that we can all learn from.

What? Where the heck did you see any of that in those images?

Were you joking or being serious?

I love the shot of the two ladies and the guy wearing shades all by the pool. Such stories behind these shots...Thanks for pointing the way.

Something Goin on in the Park, that is a bunch of Morris Dancers. (Irish)

I can't help but laugh at those white sunglasses that pop up from time to time. :-)

European family? Look at the coffee in the big teacups.

Except, he is looking at the camera...

He either has a Lazy Eye or a Glass Eye, since one eye is pointing straight at the camera and the other is off in space...

looking through these pictures reminds me of the scene from wonder boys where michael douglas and robert downey jr are making up the story of vernon hardapples life...
