If you've followed this case, then the story of the "guilty" verdict that came down today will be fascinating to you. 41 years TO THE DAY after the three men went missing...a guilty verdict. Wow.
trial info
If you go to the end of page two, the closing statements from the former Neshoba County mayor are just absurd. Or I think anyway. |

I'm with you Gil P, the KKK was/is "a peaceful organization"? WOW. Now there's something for the history books and future voters to consider when electing their public officials...

I have a feeling many things are just plain different in Mississippi. But I'm not from there and have never even visited so I may have misconceptions. |

I have lived in three southern states - Alabama, South Carolina and Louisiana. Alabama - actually not bad, at least not Birmingham, which I really liked. Louisiana - I'd go back in a minute to Baton Rouge, wonderful people, liberal, I can't say enough about how wonderful it was (1984-85), South Carolina - Rock Hill, you can have it!!! I sensed a lot of bigotry there. Would not go back there (although I do love Charlotte, N.C. my neighbors there). |
