I was in the city (Manhattan) on Sunday with a friend. She was getting extensions and I decided to take my camera. There was this rather odd (though not for NYC) shop next door called "Atomic Passion". I didn't stop to look inside, but I thought the architecture and symbology was interesting, as well as the colors. I slightly hightened them, but the colors in the picture are quite literal.
The second shot is me being "artsy" with my friend getting her hair done. I thought that the title I chose for it, "Dichotomy" was very indicitive of the stance of the two women in the shot.

In the first picture the colors seem a little too intense. Even though the picture is a little busy for my taste it is interesting. The second shot is very different. To me, it would have been better if the mirror was bigger. I bet that the first one would look neat if you only highlighted certain colors, leaving the rest black and white. |

I can see why the "Atomic Passion" caught your eye! What a jumble of colors and textures. I like it.
I also like the one with the ladies, although I think I'd crop it so that the mirror wasn't quite so centered. I'm not anal about the "centered" thing, but in this case I think it would be more interesting. It is good just as is, though.
I also like borders, but these seem to overpower the good photos.
Hope this helps! Good eye for the shots. |

I'm not usually a fan of cluttered photos, but that first shot is really starting to grow on me.
Cons- the colors are a bit too stylized, the border distracts
Other than that, I'm liking it. |
